How are the molded fiber egg boxes made?

THE egg boxes In molded fiber are made 100% from recycled paper paste, and are themselves recyclable. The egg boxes that we offer at COVR come from post-industrial recycled raw materials and post consumption.

The manufacturing process of these recycled paper boxes includes several main steps.

It is first of all a question of collecting raw materials: used boxes, old newspapers, office papers, the sources are multiple. These elements are then defined and mixed with water to create a paper paste. This dough is then cleaned to remove impurities and contaminants.

Once the dough is obtained, it is paid In special molds, often made of metal, which are designed to have the shape of the alveoli of the egg boxes. Once the dough is poured into the molds, a pressing process is used to remove excess water from the dough and to give shape its definitive structure.

The forms are then placed in a dryer where the remaining humidity is evaporated. Drying can be done by heating or by exposure to the open air. Once the shapes are completely dry, they are removed from molds and cuts to create egg boxes individual. The edges can be smoothed or finished to improve appearance and functionality.

Finally, egg boxes are wrapped in batteries or rollers to be ready to be shipped to egg producers.

It is important to note that this process of manufacturing egg boxes in molded fiber is environmentally friendly because it uses recycled paper as a raw material. In addition, these boxes are themselves recyclable, which contributes to reducing waste.
